Document management in ApEx

A lot of people still think that ApEx is just a replacement of Excel or Access.
But come on! That's changed already for a long time. ApEx is a real development framework! The community already released a lot of applications and sample code. A lot of the people in the ApEx community are sharing their knowledge and experience...

Still not convinced? Have a look at the below application... It's a free application that you can download on the OTN site. The roll-over menu when you click on readme.txt is very nice, as is all the rest in there. This is just one example of what ApEx can do.

You can login as dg_docm/dg_docm (username/password)

I've been trying to convince people at my workplace of the value APEX represents for a while now and haven't had much success. I've installed APEX 2.2.1 for general use and most recently installed several of the demo apps from OTN including Document Library to help illustrate power of Apex. I made a special point of demonstrating potential value concept of document library app and use of oracle text may represent for our organization. It works great but response received was lukewarm at best which is perplexing/discouraging to me. Another of the demo apps I think is really cool is the shopping cart app.

This sample app is no longer on OTN and the login/password no longer work. Does anyone know where I can get it or perhaps a login/password that works?

Dimitri,

I just stumbled on the thread. Thanks for the writeup. I wanted to look at the app, but the username/pwd are not working. Is there one I could use?

Also I can't find it in the packaged apps.

Cheers,

Sam

Hi Sam,

The packaged apps are now inside APEX (4.2.x).
The old ones are not available anymore.

Hope that helps,
Dimitri
